KOGAN CREEK POWER STATION

CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL INSPECTIONS AND CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION OF POWER STATION

On the Kogan Creek Power Station project, Brandon & Associates were responsible for civil and structural inspections on behalf of Brisbane-based design engineers.

As the representative of the project’s design engineers, we were involved in inspections and construction supervision including participation in regular site meetings. Our scope involved inspections of stormwater drainage, sewerage, road pavements and proof rolls, kerb and channelling, pad footings and bored piers, reinforced concrete ground/suspended slabs (three storey office building), reinforced concrete columns and masonry, structural steel roof framing, portal frames and reinforced concrete tilt-up panels.

Brandon & Associates acted as the intermediary between the client (design engineer) and building contractor conveying instructions and ensuring that the engineering design was not constructed with any unauthorised alterations/changes/substitutions. As a representative, we had to ensure that regular communication with all parties took place to establish and maintain a solid working relationship for the duration of the project.
