EXTENSIONS TO AGED CARE PREMISES

This project involved extensions to an existing communal use building and single-storey accommodation units at Freedom Aged Care Facility in Toowoomba.

As project engineer, Brandon & Associates were responsible for the structural design of footings, floor, wall and roof framing and pavements, as well as the civil design for building platforms/finished surface levels and driveways, stormwater and sanitary drainage and water reticulation.

One of the project’s main challenges was ensuring the aesthetic continuation of the new extension with the existing buildings. Brandon & Associates was able to achieve the seamless integration of new and old, utilising effective design practices.

We also utilised open communication and liaised regularly with relevant stakeholders during site inspections to ensure all key project criteria were satisfied and works could be certified on completion.
