COUNCIL ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

This new administration building serves as the administrative base to the Bulloo Shire Council. The project includes a 1,200m2 single-storey building consisting of foyer/reception area, boardroom and executive administration, general administration, specialist managers and support services facilities, amenities and external covered carparking.

Brandon & Associates was the lead consultant on this project, which required our design to consider all facets of regional heritage, the local environment and interior work conditions. Due to the location of the site, Brandon & Associates staff from Roma, Chinchilla and Toowoomba worked remotely to liaise with key stakeholders. Having developed a strong and established work history over many years with Bulloo Shire Council, Brandon & Associates were able to successfully notify and liaise with the community and the general and executive staff, of the project’s key performance criteria and progress.

Key to this success was the design of a visual structure satisfying practical requirements and Councillors’ expectations and visions for the future.  Brandon & Associates designed the interior workspace to allow maximum flexibility regarding renovations, remodelling and extensions to cater for future growth. The initial architectural concept was achieved by engaging the services of Fulton Trotter Architects to provide concept base plans to Brandon & Associates. Following this, we were able to develop the architectural plan set in-house to detailed levels for approval and construction. Cost estimates were verified with the actual scope of works and tender pricing to ensure all budget constraints would be achieved.

As lead consultant, our staff were responsible for not only the design process, but providing contract/tender documentation, advertising, award and negotiation of tender to preferred builder, contract administration, supervision and inspection services
